about
Quietly creating and playing forever.
My name is Michelle (she/her/hers) and I am a creative, mother, empath & more.
Professionally, I am a New York State licensed and national board-certified creative arts therapist.
Originally from the Boston area, I have been residing and working in New Jersey & New York for the past nine years.
Growing up in a time of being seen and not heard, made a major impact in the trajectory of my life and career.
Certain experiences fostered rebellion, beginning a strong care and advocacy for myself & others.
Finding meaning and wellness through expression; art was a necessity for survival.
--
Finishing my Bachelors of Fine Arts with a Concentration in Photography at Bridgewater State University in 2012, I concurrently wrapped up an 11 year professional photography career in 2014. I began my graduate studies also in 2014, completing my Masters of Professional Studies Degree in Art Therapy and Creativity Development from Pratt Institute in 2016. Throughout my education, I studied and trained throughout the world; including NYC, MA, NH, & London.
--
Currently, I am collaborating with various nonprofits and private practice throughout NY. My immediate focus is prioritizing my health, family and creative work. I am also a pending candidate for the LPAT (Licensed Professional Art Therapist) in the state of New Jersey.
